The Ecolatina CPI, the Food & Beverages Wholesale Price Index and the monitoring of Selected Prices are based on professional surveys of market prices.
The Ecolatina CPI measures the evolution of prices in different points of sale in the City of Buenos Aires and in Greater Buenos Aires based on own surveys and polls, which follow the methodology applied by INDEC prior to 2006.
The Ecolatina CPI is based on objective data. The Ecolatina CPI is a vital instrument in areas such as Human Resources, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics and Commercialization.
It is a strategic guideline that:
o Provides an objective parameter for the level of inflation.Each monthly report includes:
o Monthly inflation (year-on-year and accumulated variation)
o Monthly inflation (year-on-year and accumulated variation)
o Inflation detailed by groups (Food & Beverages, Transportation, Health Care, etc.)
o Inflation by categories (Seasonal Prices, Regulated Prices and Core Inflation)
o Inflation disaggregated into goods and services (private and public)
o Inflation projection for the ongoing year
It measures the real monthly evolution in prices for food, beverages and cleaning supplies in wholesale stores. The information contained in the Ecolatina FB-WPI is based on objective data surveyed.
Each monthly report includes:
o Wholesale price indexes by Food & Beverages Categories
o Headline Wholesale Price Index
o Personalized weighting scheme
o Wholesale accumulated and year-on-year variation
o Accumulated and year-on-year variation for each category
The broad database of monthly surveyed prices allows us to provide specific indexes that reveal the price variations in particular sectors, also drawing comparisons with other sectors and with headline inflation. The indexes for selected prices are made based on the objective data surveyed.
